Cat to launch an ultra-high demolition model at Bauma

Caterpillar will use Bauma to introduce a new model for ultra-high demolition applications. Weighing in at 45t, the Cat 340 F UHD excavator has a vertical reach of 22m and horizontal reach of 15m at a load-carrying capacity of 3.6t.

The machine comes complete with a C9.3 ACERT engine that meets EU Stage IV emission standards. Three power modes – high, standard and eco – along with the auto engine speed control help manage fuel consumption. The Cat stability monitoring system continuously informs the operator of the work tool’s position. A new boom coupling system enables a quick changeover of high reach and short front parts. A Cat tool control system stores pressure and flow values for up to 10 attachments so the operator can resume work immediately after the tool change. The cab features a P5A reinforced windshield and a top glass with parallel wipers as well as the front and top falling object guards. An enlarged top window offers enhanced upward visibility. The cab can be tilted back to offer the operator a more ergonomic position on high-reach projects.
