Hilti receives five if design awardsPublished 16/5, 2017 at 12:16
The jury for the 2017 iF Design Awards has given Hilti four product design awards and one communication design award for products featuring new and innovative designs.
The PD-C laser range meter won over the jury in the Communication Design category. The tool combines a documentation solution with software applications and takes photographs and saves measuring data directly in the image. The results are then transferred as an individual project folder to tablets, smartphones or computers via Bluetooth or USB connection. The user interface design allows for the intuitive and efficient handling of the device.
Hilti’s four submissions in the Product Design category were the wear-resistant TE-YX hammer drill bit; the SID 8-A22 cordless impact driver, for applications in wood; the compact TE 3-M rotary hammer drill and the current generation of the TE 60-ATC/AVR combihammer, which features improved coring and chiselling performance.
More than 5500 entries were submitted to this year’s iF Design Awards by 2600 participants representing 59 countries. The assessment criteria included design, ergonomics, innovation degree, product quality and functionality.
