Latin American Concrete Cutting & Demolition Forum 2015 postponed to autumn 2016

Published 15/4, 2015

Dear ReadersChristmas and the New Year are over and suddenly we are at the end of the first quarter of 2015. Time flies and this issue of PDi includes a report on the World of Concrete show in Las Vegas, a pre-view to Intermat in Paris, as well as several interesting features, case stories, news, company profiles and our survey about India.

I also have to advise our decision to postpone the Latin American Concrete Cutting and Demolition Forum that was scheduled for Rio de Janeiro on 1-2 of October this year. This is really disappointing, but we are aiming to rearrange the event in the autumn of 2016 and aim to advise the revised date in the coming weeks. We have also decided that the venue will be moved to São Paulo and the new dates and location will be posted on our website The reasons for the change of date and venue are covered on page 12 in this issue.
Latin America is a rather difficult region of the world to predict and business cycles can change quickly. Also professional concrete sawing and drilling, demolition, recycling, concrete floor grinding and related sectors are young business lines in Latin America. And to market such an event as the Latin American Concrete Cutting & Demolition Forum takes quite some time to reach the right audience. We do not want to organise an event with few visitors attending the Forum, so we will continue to market the event for another year and make sure it will be directed to the right audience.
The report on the trade show Intermat in this issue lists a number of exhibitors related to the industry sectors covered by PDi. At this edition of Intermat a European version of the US show World of Concrete will coincide with the French exhibition. The World of Concrete in Las Vegas in February was a success and the show was bigger then ever. The US economy is improving and is well on course to get back on track. At WOC some exhibitors even commented that they were missing visitors that usually attended the show, but this year they had too much to do taking care of business.
Also during the Intermat week the International Association of Concrete Drillers and Sawers will hold their annual meeting on 23 April. The meeting will take place at Hotel Ampère, 102 Avenue de Villiers, in Paris. For more information about the meeting check online at PDi will attend the meeting as well as being present at Intermat. This issue of PDi will also be distributed at the show. Hope to see you there.
