The Portuguese recycling company Leal & Soares has introduced a new Hitachi medium excavator ZX300LCN-6 to its production process to move 100,000m³/week of compost material at its site in Mira, west Portugal. L&S is also the owner of the brand Sistemas Integrados de Reciclagem Orgânica (Integrated Systems for Organic Recycling) that produces compost from forest residue.

Blue Machinery Scotland will be exhibiting on stands 2 and 4 in Avenue C at ScotPlant on 22 and 23 April. The company’s display will include the Warrior 600 mobile screener and Premiertrak 600 jaw crusher from Powerscreen and two mobile shredders from Doppstadt, the AK-510K and the slow-speed DW-3060K.

Nordic Lights, located in Pietarsaari, a small town on the Gulf of Bothnia in western Finland, is a specialist manufacturer of work lights for on and off-road vehicles. Robust and durable it’s lights are particularly suitable for machines used on demolition and recycling sites. Andrei Bushmarin reports on his visit to the Finnish manufacturer.

For over 125 years, the Swedish company CarlF has been involved in waste disposal and recycling in the Malmö region. While transport with horse-drawn carts was at the forefront of their business in the early years, the family owned company, now in the third and fourth generation, has since become a recycling specialist and has three Sennebogen material handlers sorting and material handling.

Contractor Hedins Hjulgrävmaskiner, based in Jokkmokk in northern Sweden, has been excavating for Westfjordens Reningsverk in Asker, Norway to create space for their new water treatment plant. The new facility is being built underground and the tunnelling project included excavation of around 2,000m3 of rock. Because of ongoing processes in the existing plant, explosives could not be used. All excavation was carried out with hydraulic breakers and a drum cutter from Atlas Copco.
