The 26th edition of the international circular economy trade show Ecomondo was held from the 7 to 10 of November in Rimini, Italy. The show boasted a 15% increase in attendance compared to
last year, with over 1,500 exhibiting brands.

The Italian Exhibition Group’s trade show Ecomondo has become somewhat of a tradition in the field of the circular economy, and although its main focus lies in the Italian industry, Ecomondo now attracts many international visitors and manufacturers. Compared to last year, Ecomondo had a 15% increase in attendance, as well as over 1,500 exhibiting brands, an increase of 10% when compared to last year.

 

New mobile fog maker from Idrobase

One of the exhibitors was Idrobase which highlighted its ‘Airone’ mobile fog maker with a rotating neck. It is designed for suppressing fine dust (PM2.5 and 10) and neutralising odours in medium sized areas. Another highlight was the ‘Elefante’ fog maker with 120bar, a fan jet of 80m and 135 nozzles.

 

VTN’s new rail breaker combines two models into one

VTN launched its rail breaker RP3000 which combines the models RP2000 and RP4000. VTN’s aim is to meet market needs with one single product. VTN also highlighted the updated sorting grapple MD210 with a dual hydraulic motor and a lower rotation group.

 

Five tine polyp grabs from Rozzi

Rozzi highlighted its RP/RPG 503-603 polyp grabs, which consists of five tines with independent movement. Each one is operated by a double acting hydraulic cylinder. Another development shown was the electrohydraulic grab ER32-500SUB with two tines with synchronised movement which are operated by two double acting hydraulic cylinders.

 

Reduced working height in updated Arjes shredder

Arjes’ Italian distributor, SCAI, exhibited the mobile shredder ‘Impaktor 250 Evo II’, which features reduced transport and working height. Other features include a revised quick change cassette and manually insertable waveform plates.

 

Latest offering in Tana’s 440 shredder series

Tana exhibited the ‘Shark’ 440ET shredder, fitted with two VEM electric motors and quick connectors. It is designed to shred using electricity and drive on diesel. In the words of Tana, the manoeuvrability enabled by the tracked platform, low operating costs and lower noise emissions come together in the 440ET.

 

Mantovanibenne dubs new rail breaker ‘the new Industry standard’

Under the slogan, ‘the new industry standard”, Mantovanibenne displayed the rail breaker MRB30R with a specific profile for facing sections of asymmetrical double T-beams up to category 60E1 (per EN 13674-41). The blade concept is designed to ensure that only the blades touch the rail and avoids unnecessary impact on the body when in use. It has a force of 350bar.

 

Screening buckets, cutter heads, and more from Simex

Simex exhibited the screening buckets VSE 2, 5 and 30. Each element is composed of five independent parts, designed to interlock with no welding. At its booth were also the cutter heads TFC 50 and 100 with continuous cutting. Simex also highlighted its ‘ART’ (Asphalt Repair Technology) for the regeneration of bituminous conglomerate.

 

Rail cutter and orange peel grapple from Wreko

Wreko highlighted its ‘WRD’ rail cutter for the volumetric reduction of current Vignoles rails. The tool has 360° hydraulic rotation and is available in two models for 22t-60t excavators. Wreko also showed its orange peel grapple ‘WPG’ which is available with a standard claw for common use, wide claw for bulky materials and a heart shaped claw for fine materials.

 

Dynaset’s hydraulic high pressure water pump in the spotlight

Dynaset showed the ‘HPW’ hydraulic high pressure water pump that converts the hydraulic power of a mobile machine, vehicle or vessel into high pressure water. The pump is said to provide low water consumption and an output power range of 10kW-200kW.

 

Wide array of Indeco tools on display

Indeco exhibited the mulching head IMH 3 with a cutting width of 610mm. Indeco also showed its multi grab IMG 600 with a maximum working pressure of 55bar. Other models on display were the hydraulic hammers HP 200 and HP 2500; the pulveriser IRP 18 X; multiprocessor IMP 20; and the shear ISS 8/13 4.0.

 

Brokk, Darda and Aquajet at Brokk Italia’s booth

Brokk Italia exhibited the multi cutter ‘Darda’ MC300 with 360° hydraulic rotary drive, plus the demolition robot Brokk 110 (with a 360° working radius) fitted with a ‘BHB’ 155 breaker which is designed to deliver 850b/min to 1,900b/min. At the booth was also the hydrodemolition system ‘Ergo’ from Aquajet, developed for replacing hand lance work on floors, walls and ceilings.

 

Electricity and sustainability are Liebherr’s focus

Liebherr presented the cable connected electric material handler LH 26 M Industry E. It is designed for temporary mains independent operation and can be equipped with a battery powered mobility kit. Liebherr also exhibited its first battery electric wheel loader L507 E as well as a T 60-9s telescopic handler which makes use of hydrotreated vegetable oil.

 

Three electric developments from Volvo CE

Volvo showed the excavator EC230 Electric which is designed to offer zero emissions, a maintenance free battery and boom float function. Volvo also showed the L20 Electric compact wheel loader, designed for applications which require a 0.8m³ bucket capacity, as well as the compact excavator ECR18 Electric, a 1.8t class excavator with a 48v lithium ion battery.

 

Slow speed shredder ‘Inventhor 6 Plus’ from Doppstadt

The Inventhor 6 Plus is a mobile and modular machine that can be used in a variety of applications. It is equipped with an improved cooling system, a maintenance optimised engine compartment and an intelligent material feed. The Inventhor 6 features an MTU engine, while the ‘Plus’ version includes a more powerful Caterpillar engine.

 

Hydraulic demolition shear ‘Cayman 30R’ from Zato

Cayman hydraulic demolition shears have been developed for medium/heavy scrap recycling and are characterised by blades that are reversible up to four times as well as a second guide of the jaw with the tip being covered by the blade. The Cayman 30R weighs approximately 2.9t and has a ‘C’ reach of approximately 295cm; ‘A’ jaw opening of 63.5cm and a ‘B’ jaw depth of 59cm.

 

Primary shredder VB 750 DK from Hammel

On display at Hammel’s booth was the company’s primary shredder VB 750 DK. The long version of this model has an approximate shaft length of 2,000mm. Hammel also highlighted its primary shredder VB 850 DK with multifunctional shredding shafts.

After four jam packed days of business and networking, this year’s Ecomondo came to an end. The next edition of Ecomondo will once again take place in Rimini from the 5 to 8 November 2024.
