The DM 540i is the latest addition to Husqvarna’s ‘i-series’ battery powered range.

It is said to be optimised for handheld drilling between 15mm–75mm and up to 100mm on a drill stand. It has been designed with powerful and lightweight ergonomics for easier handling and a more productive working while placing less physical strain on the user. The specially developed thin walled Husqvarna drill bits are said to provide a better utilisation of the machine's battery power and are available for drilling from 25mm–100mm to a maximum 350mm in depth.

Håkan Pinzani, global product manager, Core Drilling, explains where the drill’s physical characteristics are at their most useful: “The new DM 540i can be used outdoors or indoors and for wet and dry drilling. At the same time, its ergonomic design, low weight and a well-balanced machine body deliver easier, more comfortable operation, making it an ideal choice for drilling in confined spaces or in tight corners or passages. With fewer parts to service, operating costs and downtime are both reduced.”

DM 540i is part of Husqvarna’s i-Series battery eco system. This means that its’ battery can be used on multiple Husqvarna products, delivering versatility and financial benefits. Furthermore, without the need for power from the grid, productivity is optimised; something that is further enhanced by the fact that setup procedures are not required.

Håkan Pinzani concludes: “Ergonomics, user convenience and a versatile battery system are only some of the characteristics that set DM 540i apart from many other machines. Built in connectivity means that location, runtime, and service intervals can be easily monitored and wireless updates received. We believe that all these features represent an attractive harmony of that ‘great in the hand’ feeling with enabling tech.”
