Komatsu Europe announces the new PC24MR‐5 mini excavator

Powerful and versatile, with the latest EU Stage V engines, the MR‐5 new generation of mini excavators harnesses 100 years of Komatsu technological knowhow and worldwide resources to bring unrivalled customer value to the sector.
The all new MR-5 range builds on the hugely successful MR-3 product line, and additionally benefits from a full host of new and improved customer focussed features. A seat belt indicator, an easily accessible secondary shut down switch and protected ‘PPC’ levers makes these machines safe, both for the operator and for bystanders. The MR-5 range also benefits from Komatsu designed and developed factory fit options such as fingertip proportional controls and a hydraulic quick coupler line to deliver flexibility, and ensure quality, reliability and performance day in and day out. The large ergonomically designed operating environment, with a wide seat, provides a comfortable and safe working place for any operator, whatever the job.

The PC24MR-5 has an operating weight of 2,430kg (cab version), a maximum digging depth of 2,615mm and digging reach of 4,500mm. It comes with the ‘Komtrax’ monitoring system as standard and is designed for high transportability on 3.5t trailers. It has more room for additional attachments to be loaded on a trailer, a lower step height, with a reduced height of step of around 35mm, whilst its boom swing cylinder is located on the left hand side for less worries of damage. A compact of undercarriage (1,450mm width) provides easier access in confined areas, whilst the new MR-5 comfort cab has a wider door and spring assisted front windows. The fuel refilling point has been lowered by about 300mm for easier manual refilling.
