Low maintenance, exhaust free and powerful

Hilti has introduced two innovative new generation Nuron Battery Cut Off Saws: the DSH 700-22 ATC and the DSH 600-22 ATC. The battery powered cut off saws are designed to offer the same performance as petrol powered cut off saws, but with less maintenance and emission free operation. When used with the optimised cutting discs and the battery powered DWP 15-22 water feeder, the Nuron cordless cut off machine is said to provide a cutting performance that is on a par with petrol powered machines in the same performance class.

New safety features such as kickback protection and drop control, integrated in the ‘3D Active Torque Control’, as well as a digital safety switch offer additional protection. The two models differ in the positioning of the handle. The DSH 600-22 ATC has a top mounted handle for working in confined spaces, while the DSH 700-22 ATC has a rear handle for applications close to the ground. They share the advantages of the battery powered motor and the new safety functions.

Both devices are equipped with a brushless electric motor powered by two Nuron B22-290 batteries. This configuration makes it possible to cut just as much concrete as a petrol powered cut off saw in the same power class. The optimised pull through provides even power distribution. The brushless motor requires less maintenance than a two stroke motor and there is no need to change wear parts. Noise reduced, low vibration and exhaust free operation enables longer and gentler applications, even indoors. The cutting performance is comparable to petrol powered devices, especially when using the optimised cutting discs. Precise cuts are possible with the ‘SPX Universal A’ diamond cutting blades, and the patented drive arm enables a cutting depth of 120mm. The supply of water, e.g. with the DWP 15-22, significantly increases the cutting performance per battery. In addition, the simple start switch is designed to increase productivity thanks to immediate readiness for use.

The DSH 700-22 ATC and DSH 600-22 ATC are also characterised by new safety features. The 3D Active Torque Control (ATC) recognises kickbacks and a drop of the device and stops the saw blade in less than a second. A digital safety switch prevents unintentional switching on and ensures an uninterrupted workflow. The cordless cut off machines are said to increase flexibility, improve safety and working conditions and reduce operating costs.

The battery powered version can also have a positive impact on the CO2 balance in the long term, due to the lower CO2 emissions of 4.26 kg CO2 p/h of use. After just 33h of use, the DSH 600-22 offsets the initially higher CO2 footprint when purchasing batteries and chargers. From this point onwards, Hilti states that users save CO2 for every additional hour of use. For example, the battery powered DSH 600-22 saves over 1t of CO2 per year compared to the petrol powered DSH 600-X when used for 6h a week. In addition, the Nuron batteries and chargers can also be used for all other Nuron battery powered devices, which also offers potential CO2 savings. The user is said to experience a further increase in efficiency thanks to the durable and powerful cutting blades.
