Caterpillar will at bauma 2019 launch a new ultra-high demolition excavator, the 340 SB, the next generation of demolition excavators from Caterpillar.
Thanks to a new design, and new technology, Cat has managed to lower the maintenance costs by up to 15% and has made the machine up to 15% more fuel efficient. It is more comfortable with a deluxe cab, heated seat and a large touchscreen monitor among other features. The machine has also been made safer than previous models with a reinforced ROPS/FOPS cab, a P5A safety glass front and top, plus a 1PC parallel wipers front and top.
The machine is available with two different undercarriages and two stick lengths. For quick connections it has a PL 161 work tool locator and is tracker compatible with on board ‘Product Link’. It is a low level demolition machine made optimal for demolition applications with improved performances above ground level, and has a heavy duty frame plus a 9m heavy counterweight. The 340 SB replaces the 336F SB and is a perfect match for the full line of Cat demolition tools like multi processors, demolition grapple, crushers, pulverisers, hammers, scrap shears, heavy duty buckets and skeleton buckets.
