The UK’s National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and National Demolition Training Group (NDTG) recently unveiled their new headquarters at a dedicated event attended by over 60 industry representatives and the local MP.

Established in 1941, the NFDC is the driving force behind the evolution of the demolition sector, uniting over 130 contractors and 90 industry service providers to raise industry standards, ensure maximum safety on sites and promote peer to peer learning and engagement. 2023 also marks the 45th anniversary of the NDTG, as it pursues a focus on the development of more people of all ages, with a special focus on ex-offenders, ex-forces personnel and other people returning to work or looking for their next step in life.

Having recently appointed new CEO, Duncan Rudall, new president, John Lynch and 2nd vice-president, Simon Barlow, the NFDC has undergone some progressive changes over the last quarter as it embarks on a ‘new age’. In acquiring its new office building, located in Hemel Hempstead (near London) the two organisations have established a modern base able to deliver industry events and dedicated training and development seminars.

Local MP, Sir Mike Penning, attended the event and cut the official ribbon, opening the new Resurgam House office. At the opening, he commented that, “The future of the NFDC and NDTG is bright and needs to be at the heart of government policy in driving the required change and innovation. It is a brilliant industry to be a part of and work needs to be done to raise awareness amongst young people about the opportunities that exist.”

Reflecting on the new headquarters, new CEO Duncan Rudall said: “The investment in the new NFDC and NDTG headquarters is representative of the ‘new age’ of the Federation, as we continue to play a vital role in shaping industry standards, while ensuring we respond effectively and proactively to new challenges. The new building is part of our renewed strategy and something the leadership team and I are incredibly proud of. We now look forward to leveraging this space as much as possible and in increasing our membership engagement.”
