Rotar introduces the ‘RPG’ Series
Published 21/11 at 10:24Rotar has released its orange peel series, RPG, which is designed to be extremely robust providing a good choice for contractors that want to go ‘light and cheap’ for occasional use or go ‘strong and heavy’ for professional use (full day production). The RPG Series is fitted with a strong rotating upper head and a heavy duty slewing ring. The hydraulic motor in the upper head generates high torque, allowing the RPG Series to be moved in every possible position.
Orange peel grabs are subjected to heavy shock loads and the hydraulic cylinders of the RPG Series are fitted with end cushioning. This is designed to take heavy knocks and protect the cylinders. Also, the RPG Series is fitted with a pressure relief valve that is designed to protect the hydraulic system against peak pressures. The RPG Series’ wear resistant shell is designed to provide optimal penetration. The shells are manufactured from Hardox steel and fitted with manganese steel tips. The shells are equipped with long bearing pivot points with wide bearing bushes that are said to form an incredibly strong grab shell. The pivot points are sealed against grease and dust to optimise lubrication.
General features of the RPG Series include a robust built mainframe, wide pivot joints with oversized pins, an inhouse designed rotation system, rotation motor with pressure relief valves, cylinder with cushioning, optimal shells design with high closing force, a shell tip of manganese steel and is available with four or five tines. The RPG Series is said to possess optimum maintenance and servicing characteristics and is suitable for excavators between 16t and 50t.
