Solutions for the growing demands of the industry
Published 2/4 at 14:38At bauma, Rotar International B.V. will focus on attachments for carrier machines with high operating weights and will be exhibiting the fully integrated ‘ROQ’ adapter.
Rotar International B.V. has been developing, manufacturing and selling shears, pulverisers, grabs and vibratory buckets in Europe and worldwide for more than 40 years. These are used in the demolition, recycling and scrap metal sectors, as well as for screening and material separation. The company says its equipment has been steadily optimised in close cooperation with customers in order to achieve continuous development in terms of productivity, safety and working comfort according to the growing requirements of the industry.
Rotar has remained an owner managed manufacturer that is independent of corporations and investors. This has resulted in what the company says is an unbeatable service mentality and customer focus, which displays itself in a high level of expertise, dedicated consultant quality and very fast feedback on enquiries and problems, offering customers trust and security. Many customers are medium sized companies that are also owner managed, which creates a strong common basis.
New developments for growing requirements
At bauma, the company will be focusing on attachments for carrier machines with high operating weights of up to 300t, exhibiting a ‘RSS’ scrap shear with an operating weight of 17t, which will be on display at the outdoor area, close to the stand. The reasons for the use of ever larger carriers are the constantly increasing demands on the quality of recycling materials in terms of batch and grade purity, as well as the fact that demolition and recycling companies are dealing with the handling and processing of increasingly heavy parts. This is due to the fact that more stable structures are now being dismantled which were built with high quality materials but have nevertheless reached the end of their service life.
In addition, there are also recycling tasks that haven’t been tackled until now, such as the deconstruction of abandoned oil platforms lying on the seabed. The previously often uncontrolled dismantling of ships has also been stopped. They are now dismantled in accordance with environmental and occupational safety standards and their components are professionally recycled. Many steelworks now only buy (certified) scrap that has been processed in accordance with environmental and human rights standards. For Rotar, it is a matter of course that the company’s existing broad expertise in demolition and recycling is constantly being expanded to meet these requirements.
Fully integrated ROQ adapter
Another focus at bauma will be on the fully integrated ROQ adapter, developed inhouse, which is available for Rotar attachments and offers numerous advantages. Dealers do not have to do any work themselves but instead receive a ‘plug & play’ solution that is ready for immediate use by customers. Not only does it offer a flatter design, an optimised load centre of gravity with lower weight, but the internal direct hosing is designed to deliver an optimised hydraulic oil flow and therefore lower fuel consumption.
Using the adaptor means that attachments also require less time to service. The cover of the service opening, through which all important components in the rotary head can be reached, can be removed with just five screws. This makes the time consuming disassembly of a conventional adapter plate with 18 screws unnecessary. And - particularly important in times of limited resources - this solution is also even cheaper than the previous solution with conventional adapter plates and is available for ‘OQ’, ‘SQ’ and ‘VL’ systems. Rotar will be demonstrating this and many other solutions for demolition and recycling at stand C5.337 in Munich.
