Steinexpo now to be held in 2021Published 29/6 at 13:06
On 15 April 2020, the German Federal Government and the heads of the Federal States declared that major events play an enormous role in the spread of the coronavirus infection.
As a result, such events were banned at least until 31 August 2020. This means that the Steinexpo show, planned to be held from 26 to 29th August 2020 in Nieder-Ofleiden, Hessen, will now be postponed until 2021.
It is said that hope dies last, and with regard to Steinexpo 2020, it remained a hope that the show would still be held. This is due to it being up to the individual states to decide on specific regulations and determine the size and under what criteria events could be held. However, the authorities in Hesse decided that the next Steinexpo, to be held in Europe's largest basalt quarry, cannot now take place as planned at the end of August 2020. This means that the 11th quarrying equipment demonstration show will have to be postponed. Since a later date this year would entail renewed imponderables, the organisers, in agreement with exhibitors and the associations involved as the sponsors of the trade fair, decided upon a postponement until next year. The new date, as well as further information, will be announced as soon as possible via the usual channels.
