Words from the EDA President: EDA Annual Convention 2025
Published 22/12, 2024 at 19:39In less than two weeks, we will say goodbye to 2024, a year that has been particularly significant for our industry. The year started with uncertainty, as it was a key year for elections and, consequently, regulations worldwide. Indeed, it was a regulatory year in which the European Demolition Association, EDA, has been actively involved.
EDA worked closely with the European Commission on the update of the EU Construction and Demolition Waste Management Protocol (CDW). In this regard, this year’s EDA Think Tank was focused on this crucial topic and this discussion will continue at the next EDA Convention with the development of the end of waste criteria for the CDW mineral fraction.
As we approach the start of 2025, it is time to look ahead. All of us professionals working in the demolition, decontamination and recycling sector have an unmissable event on the calendar for next year, and I would like to encourage you all to participate at the EDA Annual Convention 2025. The upcoming EDA convention is going to be held from 12 to 14 June 2025 in the breathtaking city of Venice (Italy), and it will bring together professionals from all over the world. I am especially proud because it will take place in my home country and will be the final touch to my three year term as President of the European Demolition Association.
Continuing with the special feature of the EDA conventions, the professional programme will have more than a dozen speakers to discuss relevant topics and share successful case studies. It will also be an excellent networking opportunity to meet colleagues and keep up to date with the latest equipment innovations. Additionally, several leisure activities will be arranged for the participants and their companions to discover the charm of Venice, its incredible history and traditions. All of this will be organised in collaboration with the Italian Association of Demolition and Circular Economy for Construction, NADECO, and the European Decontamination Institute, EDI.
As we conclude this year, we do so with the commitment to maintain our standards and improve our priorities within this constantly evolving industry. At the same time, we must remain mindful of the context and challenges that lie ahead. These challenges will not only shape our work in 2025 but will also influence the course of the association and global regulations. On behalf of EDA and myself, we can proudly say that we are ready to face these challenges and continue to make a lasting impact, as we always have!
Now, it is time to wish you a great start to the New Year. I look forward to meeting you in Venice at the EDA Annual Convention 2025 and working together to shape the future of our industry.
