Words from the EDA President: New materials for a wider audience
Published 27/9, 2021 at 13:15One of the main objectives of the European Demolition Association, EDA, from the beginning, was to share knowledge and experiences in order to achieve, through greater dissemination, that the work of professionals in the field of demolition is valued.
This objective continues to be present in the association's day to day work and in each and every one of its initiatives. It is behind the working groups, behind the specialised and informative publications, behind the webinars and educational sessions and, of course, behind the events. It is not however a watertight goal, far from it. Rather, it is a lens that is renewed and reinvented as time goes by.
The association is now seeking to reach out to a much wider and less specialised audience, with the aim of promoting both the demolition activity and its professionals. In short, to highlight the attractiveness and value of a profession such as ours.
In pursuit of this goal, EDA has developed all kinds of informative materials. These range from the aforementioned webinars to animated videos and comics that will soon see the light (and will be available on the association's website).
The animated video that will be released first will be mainly dedicated to attachments for demolition and recycling. It will contain the main features of these, thus extracting the main points of the ‘Guide about attachments for demolition and recycling’.
Through this we are able to complete the circle of putting together a publication that was launched only a few months ago and is currently being translated into other languages. Through this we are again seeking to reach a wider audience.
As stated, we continue to reinvent ourselves and we continue to utilise new formats, drawing on new ideas, but without forgetting our origins and, above all, concepts that have always been our pillars.
Who said demolition couldn't be attractive and challenging?
