Words from the IACDS President: What to expect in the industry for 2025
Published 22/12, 2024 at 19:31It is widely recognised that the last weeks of the year offer an opportunity to reflect on what we have achieved and the challenges that lie ahead in the coming year. From the International Association of Concrete Drillers and Sawers, IACDS, we can confidently say that this year has been very successful, and we should take pride in our accomplishments.
In February, we launched our Global Training and Certification Pathway, a project designed to support industry services through the development of a skilled and recognised workforce. I would like to thank the members of the Education Group and the IACDS staff for their work. The following month, in March, we began the International Drilling & Sawing Industry Report 2024, a publication that was eventually released digitally in July. In this report, contractors and suppliers shared their perspectives by answering two separate surveys. This report has proven to be an important document and will undoubtedly continue to be relevant in discussions throughout 2025 and the following years.
As we approach 2025, IACDS is also preparing for new initiatives, such as our Annual Meeting, scheduled for 10 April during the bauma 2025 Trade Fair in Munich, Germany. At this event, the IACDS General Assembly will also take place, along with the IACDS Networking Event and the Diamond Award Ceremony.
At IACDS, we remain focused on the latest trends in the drilling and sawing industry, and we are committed to fostering innovation. With this in mind, and to honour notable achievements and innovations that could shape our future, I would like to encourage you to participate in the Diamond Award 2025. Like previous editions, this international competition has two categories, jobs and products, with its goal being to recognise the expertise of contractors and the innovation of manufacturers’ equipment.
We invite you to participate and save the date for the IACDS Annual Meeting, Networking Event, and the Diamond Award ceremony. Submissions are open until 31 December to IACDS members and non-members, offering a great opportunity for global visibility. More information is available on: www.diamondaward.org.
Finally, on behalf of IACDS and as its president, I would like to emphasise our commitment to our members and the industry as a whole. 2025 promises to be a rewarding and profitable year, and we look forward to expanding our reach and strengthening our connections, working together to shape the future of our field.
We wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to connecting with you.
